My bio culture
Our 30-hectare vineyard is located in an old glacial valley in the heart of the Baronnies. Within this isolated area and its particular Mediterranean climate, our vineyard is very less susceptible to vine diseases and pests. Our vines flourish in a clean environment and unspoiled soil.
Aided by nature and concerned with the protection of the latter, I engaged in organic farming. I am looking to better integrate the vine culture into the environment whilst respecting the flora and fauna. My farming is sustainable and respects man.
My organic farming excludes the use of any synthetic molecule and all herbicides. I only use natural products to protect my vines: biodegradable sulphur powder, very small amount of copper in the form of Bordeaux mixture, plants in different forms (herbal, infusion, liquid manure, resin) as well as local goat's milk.
We make an average of 5 treatments per year which is very little. The last treatment is performed over a month and a half before the harvest.
RESPECT FOR THE LANDS
To better preserve our lands, they are naturally grassed 8 months a year. This promotes microbial life, allows good ventilation and limits erosion. The nutriment supply is in the form of organic compost and thus ensures good plant nutrition.
From May to August, the ground is fully worked (in the inter row and under the row) to allow good water supply to the vines and avoid excessive invasion of grass in summer when it is dry and hot.
